3 Cone Passing

This passing practice involves just 3 cones set 5 yards away from a wall. A series of exercises involving passing and receiving off the wall around and between the cones. A quality first touch is needed to get across the cones and make sure you use both feet. Increase or decrease the distance of the cones from the wall to make it more or less difficult.

Bergkamp turn to shoot

As your playing partner passes, move towards the ball stepping front of the defender. Jab the lower side of the ball with the outside of the foot around the defender. Remember to spin and peel away the opposite way to the ball. Explode and shoot to score. The key here is to create spin on the ball so your first touch goes behind the defender. Work off both feet.

As your playing partner passes, stand in front of the mannequin side on in a surfing position to receive the ball. Receive with the outside of the front foot and spin in the same direction as the ball. Explode and shoot to score. Remember to make yourself long as your first touch should be as far away from the defender as possible. Work off both feet.

Van Persie turn with fake to shoot

As your playing partner passes, stand in front of the mannequin side on preparing to receive the ball. Keep the ball safe side. Just before receiving, take a step to one side and then pivot and spin in the opposite direction with the ball. Explode and shoot. The key is the timing of the fake. Step one way and then immediately spin the other taking the ball with you. Work off both feet.

Inside flick to shoot

As your playing partner passes, move towards the ball stepping front of the defender. Use the inside of the foot to flick the ball into space behind you. Explode and shoot to score. Ensure there is enough space between you and the defender when you receive to allow the ball to be flicked behind. Work off both feet.

Heel Flick To Shoot

Heel flick to shoot

Stand in front of the defender side on with your receiving foot furthest away. As the ball makes contact with the side of your foot, angle it slightly so that it pops up. Then use your heel to the lift the ball over the defender. Explode and shoot to score. Work off both feet.
