Crossing

Crossing

Drive down the line with the ball, come around the side of the ball with the inside of the foot and follow through with whip. Try and get the ball curling away from the goal keeper. Work off both feet.
Cruyff to cross

Cruyff to cross

Drive down the line at pace, fake to cross and do a Cruyff turn followed immediately with a whipped cross on the opposite foot. Ensure you have a big touch on the Cruyff to drive onto the cross. Practice with both feet.
Cruyff and step over to cross

Cruyff and step over to cross

Drive down the line at pace, fake to cross and do an explosive Cruyff turn. Then a step over turn with the opposite foot keeping the ball safe side with a big touch out after which drive onto the ball and deliver a whipped cross. Practice with both feet.
Running with Ball to Cross

Running with ball to cross

Set multiple cones 12 yards apart. Explode down the line and take just 1 touch between the each cone. Touch the ball out with your laces and drive with speed and control. On the final cone, touch the ball out with your laces and deliver the cross. Work on both feet and don't lose any of your speed until the ball has left your foot.
Running with Ball 1v1 To Cross

Running with ball, 1v1 to cross

Drive at the defenders feet at an angle with a laces dribble. Fake inside and then explode out an deliver a cross. Key element is the fake and exploding out giving you the time to whip in that cross.

The ability to create chances from wide areas is extremely useful, especially when playing against an opponent who can neutralise your attack through the middle. Experiment with various crossing techniques in the air and along the floor, in the words of Pep Guardiola: A low, hard cross is half a goal!
