Outcomes
The full training programme looks at 8 core technical areas. Each session will start with Ball Mastery followed by Movement Development & Functional Practices that are designed to focus on these technical areas to varying degrees. See below for the technical outcomes that will be worked on in this session to improve your soccer game.

Useful Equipment
In each session there are exercises that will require some equipment to act as obstacles or targets. Please use whatever you have to help you train.
  • Cones or equivalent markers
  • Wall or rebounder
Simple process to follow
  1. Watch the videos for each exercise before you train so you become familiar.
  2. Start slow if required to master the technique before increasing your speed.
  3. Put in maximum training effort for 20 minutes.
  4. Follow the timings for each exercise taking rest when required and drinking plenty of fluids.
  5. Video yourself to refine your technique and track your progress.
  6. Most importantly, HAVE FUN and remember “Hard Work Pays Off”.

Ball Mastery: Jump backs

Tips

  • Start slow to get the technique correct
  • Rotate your hips to get create the “V”

Ball Mastery: U Turns

Suggested Timing

  • 2m30s followed by 1 minute rest

Tips

  • Start slow and build up pace
  • Try to keep your body upright

1 Metre Touch Control

Suggested Timing

  • 6m – rest as required

Tips

  • Work through 3 stages one after the other
  • Really focus on the touches as this is key
